Graduate Student
Destiny is a graduate teaching assistant in the Cognitive Psychology PhD program. She is currently studying strategies for working memory performance.
Shaelyn Ward
Undergraduate Research Assistant
Shaelyn is a senior pursuing a dual degree of Human Nutrition and Kinesiology, while also pursuing a secondary major in Gerontology. She plans to attend OSU College of Osteopathic Medicine in the the Fall of 2021. Her interests include working with older adults.
Emily Augustine
Undergraduate Research Assistant
Emily is a psychology major with a focus on clinical psychology. She plans on attending graduate school and eventually attaining a doctorate to become a practicing psychologist. She is interested mainly in working with children and adolescents.
Cristiane Kauer Brazil
Research Assistant
Cris is a Ph.D. student in Industrial Engineering. She is interested in studying how technology can be used to prolong independent living of older adults and ways of increasing adherence to new devices by improving its usability and design considering aging processes.
Barbara Pitts is a post-doc in the Department of Psychological Sciences at KSU. She studies how memory for events affects mental health.

Carmel Powers

Carmel is a retired R.N. Her experiences includes 5 years at The Feinstein Institute for Medical Research where she was introduced to clinical research on genomics & human genetics. Subsequently, she worked as a research coordinator on clinical trials. She is excited to expand her knowledge here at K-State and be part of this dynamic group.
Ariana Coker
Undergraduate Research Assistant
Ariana is a senior dual degree majoring in Life Science Pre-Medicine and Gerontology as well as pursuing minors in Spanish and Leadership Studies. She is attending KU Medical School in Fall 2021. Some of her research interests include studying changes in the brain as one ages.
Whitney Applegate
Undergraduate Research Assistant
Whitney is majoring in Psychology and minoring in Anthropology. She plans to attend graduate school for either Industrial-Organizational or Cognitive Psychology. Some of her research interests include learning how the brain processes information and how that can be utilized in the workplace and educational settings.
Katie Hutson
Undergraduate Research Assistant
Katie is seeking a degree in Psychology with minors in Leadership Studies, Human Development and Family Science, and Queer Studies. They plan to attend graduate school to study clinical psychology, with the goal of working with LGBTQ+ adolescents and young adults as they come to terms with their identities.
Maverick is a graduate research assistant in the Cognitive Psychology program at Kansas State University. His research explores how knowledge and experience influences moment-to-moment processing that enables the building of an understanding of the scenes, actions, and events we encounter in our daily lives.

Maria is majoring in Psychology with minors in Anthropology and CATS. She is most interested in trauma rehabilitation, and, thus, how trauma affects the brain. She hopes to study Clinical Psychology in graduate school or attend medical school with a specialization in neurology

Cheyanne is a junior double majoring in Psychology and Gender, Women, and Sexuality Studies. She plans to earn my doctorate and become a practicing psychologist.She is interested mainly in eating disorders and how they affect the body and mind.

Annie is majoring in Psychology. She plans to attend graduate school and earn her EdS degree in School Psychology. Her interests include optimizing the way we learn and process information. In the future, Annie plans to work with school children and adolescents.
